A private MP3 cutter

Most online audio cutters upload your file to a server first. This one does not: the audio is decoded and re-encoded with the Web Audio API and a JavaScript encoder running in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.

MP3 or WAV output

Export to MP3 for a small, universally compatible file, or to WAV for lossless audio. The selection you make on the waveform is exactly what gets exported.

Frequently asked questions

Is my audio uploaded to a server?

No. Decoding and exporting both happen entirely in your browser — your audio never leaves your device.

What audio formats can I load?

Any format your browser can decode, which typically includes MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG and FLAC.

What formats can I export?

MP3 (small and universally compatible) and WAV (lossless 16-bit PCM).

Does trimming reduce quality?

WAV export is lossless. MP3 export re-encodes the selection, which is lossy like any MP3 — at the default bitrate the difference is hard to hear.

Is there a length limit?

There is no artificial limit, but very long files use more memory since everything runs on your own device.
